Busy with the daily stuffs and more

  • Drinking: Diet Coke
Haven't been on here in a long time; I just forget to look at it, or think about logging in when I'm away from my computer. Stupid work computers not letting me access this site! Anywho, been up to the usual daily routine as well as submitting applications to some of the local schools to get my BSN. 'Bout time I get it done. I could just go and get an RN at a technical/community college but that would take me about 1.5 years and I'd not have a Bachelor's degree, whereas I can go to a 4-yr. school and knock out a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in just 2 years. (I've already earned an Associate's degree) So there's all those applications to fill out, a couple essays, application fees (bleh), transcript requests to send, and recommendations to ask people to fill out/write.... I thought I was done with this stuff last time I went to college~

I've also been painting miniatures alot more. It's alot of fun, and we use some of the figures when we roleplay (yes, I'm still a geek and play Dungeons and Dragons :aww: )
These figurines are very small and come as just the base pewter metal that's pressed from a mold. You file off any mold lines and excess metal bits, prime them, and paint them as you like. The ones I paint are largely from a company called Reaper Miniatures and average around 25mm in height. (Though some of the animals, familiars, etc are significantly smaller, and some of the monsters, dragons, etc are significantly larger.)

Had to work on Halloween, but we were allowed to wear costumes as long as we could still perform our job functions. I didn't want to wear anything too bothersome or stuff I'd get pissed if I got dirty, so I wore a red scrub top and black scrub pants, but I wore my devil horns and tail and some crazy long red and gold glitter eyelashes. *grin* I had one or two interesting moments.... walking into a room with an old lady with dementia and having to put in a catheter (imagine her telling people THAT story) and people mumbling about it being appropriate that a devil was putting their splint on/drawing their blood. (splinting generally hurts a bit, and getting stuck with a needle isn't a walk in the park either) All in all, that was a good night... with WAAAAAY too much candy!

My mom's flying out to visit next week, rather excited about that; she's going to help me pick out a Christmas tree and decorate, among other things.

It's getting late... shoulda been to bed hours ago... but wanted to just let people know I'm not dead yet! :aww:

Thanks for adding me back. You're a living doll.

I wish I had something funny to say that was relevant, but nope.

You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened...or you can leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on. - Tupac
Thanks! And thanks for watching! :aww:
